Montevideo Wins "Keep San Jose Beautiful" Grant

Great news! The MIA was informed earlier this week that Montevideo is approved for the $3,500 grant from Keep San Jose Beautiful program. The grant will be fully processed and awarded in late March/early April timeframe. The board extends a big thank you to Dan Migliore for his perseverance and to board member Wayne Niblack for making the final presentation to the Keep San Jose Beautiful board a couple weeks back.

The grant money will be used towards the beautification project on the public-facing MIA grounds on the corner of Camden & Coleman. Read more here for a refresher on the original grant application.

Regarding gardening services that include mowing & hedging; is it possible to ask the gardeners to work on Thursday or Friday?
This not only cuts weekend noise pollution but also keeps the grounds in presentable shape for the weekend.

We have found that the best day for the gardeners is Sunday mornings. From appx. April through September the swim team and pool hours occupy the pool area from 8am all week, restricting the gardeners from working.Sunday am still allows rental of the clubhouse and work is done before the pool opens. Also the yard waste is picked up Monday am,the least time for the trimmings to stay on the street.
    Thanks for the concern.
