MIA is Upgrading Pools According to VGB Act

The Virginia Graeme Baker (VGB) Act was signed into law to increase safety in swimming pools. The intent is to increase safety in pools and spas by establishing a federal standard for pool and spa drain covers and ensure pools have proper safety devices. The VGB Act requires all public pools be equipped with these devices before opening this year.

The MIA board has started the required upgrades to our pools. This includes new drains, drain and skimmer covers along with pool lighting repairs. The work will continue through March with target completion by swim team opening day.
