




Thanks and congratulations to all the float builders, runners,bar-b-quers, bellyfloppers, and good neighbors who made another 4th of July a wonderful experience in Montevideo.
We had excellent floats in our parade, and the overall results were:
- 1st place: Montalban for "Star Trek"
- 2nd place: DePalma/Los Rios for "Scooby Doo"
- 3rd place: Swim Team for "Happy Days"
- 4th place: Lower Puerto Vallarta for "M.A.S.H."
- Best Adaptation of Theme: Lower Puerto Vallarta (M.A.S.H)
- Most Creative: Upper Puerto Vallarta (Twilight Zone)
- Most Enthusiastic: Swim Team (Happy Days)
- Most Entertaining: Monteverde (Wheel of Fortune)
- Best Music: Band (Batman)
- Most Original: Montalban (Star Trek)
- Best Design: De Palma / Los Rios (Scooby Doo)
Thanks to our panel of judges that included Theresa Hull and Jennifer O'Brien, teachers at Guadalupe, Nate Hanna of Swirls, Maria Cook of Malibu Grill, and Nancy Pyle, San Jose City Councilwoman for District 10.
For the 4 on the 4th race, held earlier in the day, the top three finishers were:
- 1st place: Miguel Vasquez, 22:42
- 2nd place: Jean Harris, 23:22
- 3rd place: Jose Gonzalez-Mejia, 23:26

I have to admit that although I grew up on Paso Los Cerritros...I currently live in Danville.. But I wall always consider Almaden home.

when will the themes be voted upon? i like broadway shows, holidays, a nighttime light parade!!! thatd be fun!!! and major cities in the world!
